THE STRANGE WOMAN

Certain cultures avoid the dating trap, but in a western modernized culture, a boy meets a girl, the girl likes the boy, they go out on a date, and then engage in sexual a relationship. Now, lets dive right into wisdom and get understanding. Like yesterday, read the chapter, and I will give some thoughts at the end.

PROVERBS 5

1 My son, attend to my wisdom, and stretch your ears to my understanding.

2 Keep the discretion of my lips, and preserve my knowledge.

The Lips of a Strange Woman

3 The lips of a strange woman drip like honeycomb; her palate is as smooth as oil:

4 But in the end, she is as bitter as wormwood, and as sharp as a two-edged sword.

5 Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold of hell.

6 She considers not the path of life: her ways are movable; you cannot know them.

7 Listen to me, my son; depart not from the words of my mouth.

8 Get far away from her, and do not go near the door of her house.

9 Lest you give your honor to others, and your years to the cruel.

10 Lest strangers be filled with your wealth, and your labor be for the house of a stranger.

11 And you growl, when at last your flesh and body are consumed.

12 Lest you say, “How I have hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof.”

13 I disobeyed the voice of my teachers, and would not stretch my ear to them who instructed me.

14 And if you don’t want even a little of this evil amid the congregation and fellowship;

15 Then drink the water from your own cistern; the running water from your own well.

16 Lest your fountain be dispersed abroad like rivers of water in the streets.

17 It is not for strangers.

18 Let your fountain be blessed and rejoice with the wife of your youth.

19 Let her be your loving hind and pleasant roe; and let her breasts satisfy you at all times, and always be ravished with her love.

20 Son, be not ravished with a strange woman; embrace not the bosom of a stranger.

Be Warned

21 The ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD; he considers their paths:

22 Iniquity will take the wicked, and hold them with the cords of their sin,

23 They will die without instruction; for in the greatness of their folly they have gone astray.

My Thoughts:

Sexual education is the responsibility of parents to their children, not the administration of strangers teaching your kids. And because the education system slowly conditioned parents to believe that they are the adult authority in a child’s life, certain wicked people saw an opportunity to pass on their sexually immoral experiences to a whole new generation without the consent or knowledge of the parents.

The strange woman reveals something that every man should consider: Certain cultures avoid the dating trap, but in a western modernized culture, a boy meets a girl, the girl likes the boy, they go out on a date, and then engage in sexual a relationship.

For some, the dating scene is like eating out every week at a different restaurant. Once there is a breakup, they move on. Some last a little longer than others. They get married, go on their honeymoon, and then start their life together: Just two strangers, who never knew each others values, morals, or spiritual dimention, trying to get to know the other stranger they picked up from the bar, online, or somewhere else.

Two strangers that met each other, but because the boy’s father was absent or failed in parenting, the boy now gets entrapped with a strange woman who will, in his later years, cause him much pain and cost him more than what he wanted to pay. This is the illusion of dating and flirting with a strange woman. Her end is as bitter as wormwood, and she becomes like a double-edged sword when the couple splits up or goes through a divorce. All because fathers, who were wise in making money, were fools in educating their sons, to warn them of the dangers of dating strangers they met along the way.

But God, in wisdom, gave each man or woman the book of Proverbs, not as a guideline, but as an instruction manual to avoid the strange woman or man and the sorrows that will follow when you allow the stranger into your bed. Fathers can use it to teach their sons. Single parents can use it to teach their kids. Don’t let strangers slip in through the window like a thief to come and corrupt your children in school under the guise of sexual education. They have no business talking to your kids about sex. They are predators preying on kids while parents work. And in the end, parents end up with sexual promisquise children who not only lost their innocence but whose lives will end up ruined by a stranger they met on the street.

Use the wisdom of proverbs to instruct and correct your sons, and to make them wise to avoid the dangers of hooking up with a stranger.
