COLLECTABLE QUOTES – Proverbs 29 Wisdom Challenge.
COLLECTABLE QUOTES
Collectible quotes are like trading cards, Pokémon cards, sports memorabilia, or stamps. But the value of these quotes can far outweigh that of any collectible item you may or may not own. Let me explain:
Like yesterday, read the chapter, and I will give some thoughts at the end.
Learn something new each day.
Discover something deeper.
PROVERBS 29
1 When a person or a people who are reproved hardens their necks, they will suddenly be destroyed without remedy.
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked bear rule, the people mourn.
3 The man who loves wisdom makes his father glad, but not so the companion of harlots who waste his substance.
4 The king in judgment establishes the land, but a man who receives gifts overthrows it.
5 People who flatter their neighbors spread a net for their feet.
6 The transgressions of evil men are a trap, but the righteous will shout for joy and be happy.
7 The righteous considers the cause of the needy, but the wicked does not know it.
8 Scornful men protest in the city: they protest, but the wise turn away wrath.
9 The wise contend with the foolish, but in their rage or laughter, there is no rest.
10 Though the bloodthirsty hate those who are right, the right still seeks their souls.
11 A fool utters all his mind, but the wise will have praise afterwards.
12 If a ruler listens to lies, his servants also will be wicked.
13 When a poor deceitful man meets the LORD, he enlightens his eyes.
14 The king who faithfully judges the needy, his throne will be established forever.
15 The rod of reproof gives wisdom, but a child left to himself shames his mother.
16 When the wicked multiply, transgression increases, but the righteous will see their fall.
17 When you correct your son, you will have rest, and he will give happiness to your soul.
18 The dreams of people will perish, but he that keeps the law will be happy.
19 A servant corrected by words alone will not understand the answer.
20 Do you see a man hasty in his words? His hope is like that of a fool.
21 When you treat a servant like a child, he will end up as your son.
22 Angry men stir up strife, and furious owners abound in transgression.
23 A man’s pride will bring him low, but in glory will he uphold the humble in spirit.
24 The partner of a thief hates his own soul, for he disregards the curse though he is warned.
25 The fear of man is a trap, but trust in the LORD, and you will be safe.
26 Many seek the ruler’s favor, but your judgment comes from the LORD.
27 An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, and the right in his way is an abomination to the wicked.
My Thoughts:
Collectible quotes are like trading cards, Pokémon cards, sports memorabilia, or stamps. But the value of these quotes can far outweigh that of any collectible item you may or may not own. Let me explain:
In each chapter of Proverbs, a treasure trove of information, knowledge, and discernment can be found on the issues of life and those of the human heart. It was written by a king for a king’s son. But history has taught you that there are good kings, bad kings, and the ugly. But here you have wisdom made available to the public on private and public matters.
The wisdom of Proverbs came from the mouth of God, so the simple can get knowledge and discernment. That man can understand his ways, whether he is on the right path to life or on the wrong path that leads to death and destruction. Yet, even though his wisdom is worth more than silver and gold, few were so astonished by what they heard as the Queen of Ethiopia, who were moved out of her comfort seat to travel the desert for months go and see for herself the wisdom and wealth God had bestowed upon Solomon, the son of David.
She even brought with her a wealth of gifts to give to the king and to others worthy for their hospitality. And what she has seen and heard amazed her so much that she replied: Only half of what I have seen was told me. But now I have seen the wealth of king Solomon and heard his wisdom for myself. I want to put it to you, that even what I have shown you and what is revealed to us about the kingdom of God is only but half of the glory and wisdom of God from heaven. For the libraries of the world cannot contain the glory of God and the riches of his mercy towards mankind.
Most people would collect trading cards, Pokémon cards, sports memorabilia, or stamps simply because they don’t discern the value of knowledge. Proverbs reveals to you that even fools can acquire wealth and power. But a poor person walking in his integrity is better than the rich who are perverse.
Collect these quotes as if you would collect trading cards, Pokémon cards, sports memorabilia, or stamps. Let them be valuable in your eyes. Listen to them and obey them, for they are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh. It will be a lamp for your feet and a light to your path.
It will open your eyes to the wisdom God gives to those who want to be wise, but not in their own eyes. God’s wisdom will make you wiser than your teachers. Though the world may shun this knowledge from God, it will add long life to you and wealth to you. It will make you wise in reading people and situations not tarrot cards of evil. It will also give you awareness on how to avoid people and situations that was designed to trap the simple and cath them off guard. The bonus of wisdom is it make you wise in decision making so you can avoid the many traps out there and the fake.

Proverbs is not just another book. It reveals to you the wisdom of God.
A young man onced prayed and asked God for wisdom. Then God answered his prayer and made him the wisest man who ever lived on earth. His wisdom was known far and wide, and his wisdom are still sought by kings and princess and princesses today.
But above all – those who practice the wisdom they have collected are truly the wise ones.
My Final thought on collectable thoughts is this. There are millions of quotes out there. Inspirational quotes are like a daily dose of vitamins. But for lack of discernment, beautiful and inspiring collectible quotes will be read and believed without pondering them well. Not all quotes lead to life, and motivational quotes, no matter how inspiring, can be the most deceptive of them all. And just because a famous philosopher or statesman said it, be sure you understand what you are collecting. Quotes are thoughts of other people’s good or evil that will shift and shape your mind and soul. This is certainly true in every house: things worth more than money can buy, and things less than a penny’s worth. And this house is you: what is in your heart and what is in your mind are the treasures you carry.
