STAR OF DAVID – Proverbs 30 Wisdom Challenge.

STAR OF DAVID

Who ascends into heaven and descends? Who gathers the wind in his fists? Who binds the waters like a garment? Who establishes the ends of the earth? Can you tell? What is his name, and what is his son’s name?

Like yesterday, read the chapter, and I will give some thoughts at the end.

PROVERBS 30

The words of Agur, son of Jakeh, and the prophecy this man spoke to Ithiel.

The Son Of God

Ithiel and Ucal are brutish men and have the discernment of a man. They have learned wisdom, but they have no knowledge of the Holy One.

4 Who ascends into heaven and descends? Who gathers the wind in his fists? Who binds the waters like a garment? Who establishes the ends of the earth? Can you tell? What is his name,
and what is his son’s name?

The Word of God

5 The word of Eloah is tried and trusted like a shield.

6 Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you, and you be found a liar.

Riches and Poverty

7 Two things I required of Him; deny me not before I die.

8 Remove far from me vanity and lies, and give me neither poverty nor riches; but feed me with food sufficient for me.

9 Lest I be full and deny Him, and say, Who is the Lord? Or, lest I be poor and steal, and take the name of God in vain.

10 Accuse not a servant to his master, lest he curse you, and you be found guilty.

Four Evil Generations

11 There is a generation that curses their fathers and will not bless their mothers.

12 There is a generation pure in their own eyes, and yet they are not washed from their own filthiness.

13 There is a generation, O how lofty in their own eyes, with lifted eyelids.

14 And there is a generation whose teeth are like swords, and their jaw-teeth like knives, to devour and afflict on earth the poor among men

It’s Never Enough

15 The horse leech has two daughters crying, “come, come, bring and give,” and there are three things that are never satisfied, yes, four things that can never say, “It’s enough.”

16 The grave, the barren womb, the earth filled with water, and fire can never say, “It’s enough.”

17 The eyes that mock their fathers, and despise to obey their mothers, the ravens of the valley will pick it out, and young eagles will eat them.

Four Wonders

18 There are three miracles, yes, four which I know not.

19 The way of an eagle in the air, the way of a serpent on a rock, the way of a ship in the midst of the sea, and the way of a man with a maid.

20 The way of an adulterous woman is to eat and then to wipe her mouth, saying, “I have done no wickedness.”

Unbearable Things

21 With three things the earth is disquieted, and with this four they cannot bear:

22 A servant when he reigns; with a fool when he is filled with food;

23 With an odious when she marries; and a housekeeper who is an heir to her mistress.

Small But Wise

24 There are four things that are little upon the earth, yet they are exceedingly wise:

25 The ants, like fierce people, prepare food in the summer;

26 The conies, like feeble folk, make their house in the rocks;

27 The locusts, like kings, that go forth in groups;

28 And spiders, that hold not with hands, in kings’ palaces.

Amazing to Watch

29 There are three things that stride well; yes, four that please in their going.

30 An old lion which is not the strongest of the animals, still he turns not away for any;

31 A greyhound, a he goat, and a king, against whom there is no rising up.

Final Thoughts

32 They will fade away who lift up evil in their hands and with their mouths.

33 As the churning of milk brings forth butter, and the wringing of the nose brings forth blood, so will forcing wrath bring forth strife.

My Thoughts:

The last two chapters of proverbs are two prophecies. This one was spoken by a man of God to two educated fools who had no understanding of the holy. This is important because because it sums up the book of Proverbs. That people can be educated and smart yet they are ignorant and foolish when it comes to spiritual matters. Therefore the statement; Ithiel and Ucal are brutish men and have the discernment of a man. They have learned wisdom, but they have no knowledge of the Holy One.

He is calling them brutish and that they have the discernment of a man which is they got an education from Harverd but after graduating they begin the elstrous career still not knowing God the creater of heaven earth. Can you imagine studing medicine and discovering how the body works and the complexity and marvel of DNA and still becoming a top class surgent believing in evolution and that man and apes are related?

He answered these fools with one verse: Who ascends into heaven and descends? Who gathers the wind in his fists? Who binds the waters like a garment? Who establishes the ends of the earth? Can you tell? What is his name, and what is his son’s name?

Here in Proverbs a man of God who knows God has the same battle over ages whether God exist or not. And not only does he show his faith in God but also his knowledge and understanding that God had a son. This is why it is a prohecy. Because his knowledge is by the inspiration from the Holy Spirt not revealed by flesh and blood.

So decades later Isaiah prophecied: Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and he will be called Emmanuel. Which means – God with us. Isaiah 7:14 Again he prophesied and said: For unto us a child is born, and a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulder. And his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 And this scripture has been fullfilled in Matthew chapter one and two. The angel appeared to Mary a virgin who gave birth to Christ and he was called Emmanuel and his name was Jesus.

And because they were not wise and rejected the word of God, God, blinded them for a season until the fullnsess of the gentiles would come in. But Zechariah also prophesied of him saying: And they shall look upon him whom they have pierced and they will mourn for him as one who mourns over his only begotten son. And you know that John 3:16 says: For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son son. that whosoever believes in him shall not persih but have everlasting life. So let me ask you also what is his name, and what is the name of his son? Who is wise to understand these thing? Yes, the prudent shall know them. for the ways of the Lord are right and the just shall walk in them.
