WISDOM HAS GOODIES – Proverbs 3 Wisdom Challenge.

WISDOM HAS GOODIES

Let them be your friends and constant companion. For their merchandise is good, as the merchandise of silver, and its gain like fine gold. Even better than rubies. Now, lets dive right into wisdom and get understanding. Like yesterday, read the chapter, and I will give some thoughts at the end.

Learn something new each day.
Discover something deeper.

PROVERBS 3

1 My son, my daughter, forget not my law, but let your heart keep my commandments.

2 Length of days, long life, and peace will they add to you.

3 Let not mercy and truth forsake you, but bind them around your neck and write them on the table of your heart.

4 So will you find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own discernment.

6 In all your ways, know him, and please him on your path.

7 Be not wise in your own eyes, but fear the LORD and depart from evil.

8 It will be health to your navel and marrow to your bones.

9 Honor the LORD with all your substance and with the first fruits of all your increase:

10 So will your barns be filled with plenty and your presses burst with new wine.

11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD, and neither be weary of his correction.

12 For whom the LORD loves he corrects, even as a father his son in whom he delights.

Wisdom Has Goodies

13. Happy is the one who finds wisdom, and gets understanding.

14 Their merchandise is good, as the merchandise of silver, and its gain like fine gold.

15 Even the precious rubies you desire can not compare to it.

16 Length of days is in their right hand, and in their left hand are riches and honor.

17 Their ways are the ways of pleasantness, and all their path are peace.

18 They are a tree of life when you lay hold on them; and happy will you be when you keep them.

19 The LORD in his wisdom founded the earth, and by his understanding he established the heavens.

20 By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down dew.

21 My son, let them not depart from your eyes. Keep sound wisdom and discretion.

22 Life they are to your soul and grace to your neck.

23 You will walk in your way safely, and your foot will not stumble.

24 And when you lie down you will not be afraid. You will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet.

25 You will not be afraid of sudden fear, or the desolation of the wicked when it comes.

26 For the LORD will be your confidence; he will keep your foot from being taken.

27 He will not withhold good from you. He is the owner; El, by his hand, has made it all.

28 Say not to your neighbor, “Go, and come back tomorrow,” but give to him, when you have it.

29 Devise not evil against your neighbor, seeing he dwells securely by you.

30 Strive not with a man for nothing if he has done you no harm.

31 Envy not oppressors and choose none of their ways.

32 The froward is an abomination to the LORD, but his secrets are with the right.

33 The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked, but he blesses the habitation of the righteous.

34 He scorns the scorners, but gives grace to the meek and the poor.

35 The wise will inherit glory, but shame will be the promotion of fools.

My Thoughts:

As you read Proverbs and participate in this wisdom challenge for the next 31 days, you will find answers and solutions to your own questions of life. Topics can change from verse to verse depending on the moments of inspiration. Sometimes it is random, and other times it addresses issues of vital importance. Take note that disregarding this wisdom will lead to disasters along the way, but if you pay close attention, it will lengthen your life, add health to your body and mind, and even help you prosper financially. Let’s get into it.

The lawless who disrespect the laws and the commandments of God and of man will ultimately face the consequences of their choices. Gravity does not care whether you’re a king or a pauper. God also is no discriminator of persons. Obey the rules, and you will live in peace.

To be honest, each verse has something to tell us. It encourages us to put our trust in the Lord and not to lean on our own discernment, understanding, or sixth senses. Because humans make mistakes, but God corrects them if we trust in him with our lives.

This also coincides with the chastening of the Lord. Like a good parent, God disciplines us because he loves us. Only a bastard child is left unpunished, which makes him bolder in his criminal behavior.

In verses 13 to 18, we are introduced to wisdom and understanding. Let them be your friends and constant companion. For their merchandise is good, as the merchandise of silver, and its gain like fine gold. Even better than rubies. Length of days is in their right hand, and in their left hand are riches and honor. Their ways are the ways of pleasantness, and all their path are peace. They are a tree of life when you lay hold on them; and happy will you be when you keep them.

Verses 19 and 20 are my favorite. Modern-day scientists and evolutionists hate it. It shows that God is an intelligent being that used wisdom in creating the heavens and the earth. And when you look at the human body itself, besides the other creatures, or elements on earth in the heavens above, one cannot but marvel.

Solomon continues to speak to his son, giving him laws and commandments that would save his life, keep him safe, and prosper him not only in this life but also in the life to come. As Revelation promises us, God will create new heavens and a new earth, but the elements of this world will burn with fire.

“Pandora’s Box of Poems is a sacred and peculiar book, sealed with pages filled with ancient wisdom and satire, for lovers of poetry.”

What’s inside? You want to know? Take a peek; don’t be afraid. Do you dare to open it when they tell you, “Don’t open Pandora’s box”?

Tomorrow, we will continue our Proverbs 31 Days Wisdom Challenge for more wisdom.
