RIGHTEOUSNESS EXALTS A NATION – Proverbs 14 Wisdom Challenge.
RIGHTEOUSNESS EXALTS A NATION
Verse 34 says, Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin shames its people. Just like Babylon, America has impacted the world in many ways, for good and for evil. But for the righteous, they have seen a leader whom God raised up to lead a foolish nation back to its roots and foundation, which was built upon the word of God: One nation under God.

PROVERBS 14
1 A wise woman builds her house, but the foolish tears it down with her hands.
2 To walk in uprightness is to fear the LORD, but the perverse in their way despise him.
3 The mouth of the fool is as a rod in his pride, but the lips of the wise preserve.
4 Without oxen the crib is clean, but much increase from the strength of an ox.
5 A faithful witness will not lie, but a false witness utters lies.
6 A scorner seeks not after wisdom, but knowledge is easy to him that understands.
7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when you don’t perceive in him the lips of knowledge.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way, but the folly of fools is in their deceit.
9 Fools make a mock of sin, but the right is his delight.
11 The house of the wicked will be overthrown, but the tabernacles of the right will flourish.
12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end of that way is death.
13 Even in laughter the heart can be sorrowful, and the end of mirth is heaviness.
14 The backslider in heart will not be filled with the way of good men.
15 The simple believe every word, but the prudent perceives their goings.
16 The wise fear, and depart from evil, but fools rage on in their self-confidence.
17 People who are easily angry deal foolishly, and a person without discretion is hated.
18 The simple inherit folly, but the prudent is crowned with knowledge.
19 Evil will bow before good, so will the wicked be at the gates of the righteous.
20 The poverty-stricken is hated by his neighbor, but the rich has many friends.

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin shames its people.
– Proverbs
21 The one who despises his neighbor sins, but he that has mercy on the meek will be happy.
22 It is wrong to devise evil, but to have mercy and truth is to devise good.
23 In all work there is profit, but in the idle talk of the lips there is want.
24 The crown of the wise is their riches, but the foolishness of fools is folly.
25 A true witness delivers souls, but the deceitful speaks lies.
26 In the fear of the LORD is your strength and confidence, and the refuge of his children.
27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life to depart from the snares of death.
28 In the multitude of people is the king’s honor, but for want of people is the destruction of princes.
29 He that is slow to wrath has great understanding, but a hasty spirit exalts his folly.
30 A sound heart is life to the flesh, but jealousy rots the bones.
31 Whoever oppresses the needy reproaches his Maker, but those that honor Him have mercy on the poor.
32 The wicked are cast down for their wickedness, but the righteous has hope even in death.
33 Wisdom rests in the heart of the understanding, but within fools it is not known.
34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin its shames people.
35 The king delights to prosper his servants, but his wrath is on those who shame him.
My Thoughts:
Proverbs again is full of wisdom nuggets or sugary treats for those who love sweet things. This chapter follows the same pattern as the previous few chapters, where it expresses random observations and quotes from the wisest man who ever lived, recorded for our benefit. Sadly, neither Christ nor King Solomon is recognized by this world as among the smartest people.
The reasons may differ, but the Bible says that because people love darkness, they do not come to the light, and because they don’t have a taste for truth, they shut their ears in anger. Neither was either of them just a mere philosopher, teacher, or a religious figure. And let us also not forget Daniel and his three friends, Shadrach, Mescheck, and Abednego, who asked God for wisdom, and God made them ten times wiser than all the wise men of the realm of Babylon. Ten times wiser than the wisest philosopher, astronomer, physicist, scientist, mathematician, doctor, lawyer, and professor.
The list of the 20 smartest people in the world, according to History Snob, includes well-known names like Einstein, Plato, Voltaire, etc.; even fools are on the list, which I will name, who denied the existence of God. God doesn’t recognize fools. He only acknowledges the righteous and the wise who fear him. There is no honor to fools, but the world loves to promote men gifted with intelligence as proof of the evolution of the species. This is the folly of man, creating AI and then promoting it as a deity.
Obama publicly on national television declared that America is no longer a Christian nation, which opened the floodgates of hell and caused people to lose their common sense and normality. Adults were no longer able to tell the difference between a man and a woman, but children could educate them. Then they sent these perverse minds into the schools to further violate innocent minds with sexually explicit content.
Lawyers, politicians, doctors, scientists, and even professors looked at men and women, like the French would stare at a painting, and could not tell what they were looking at. Why? Romans One will tell the reason why God gave them over to a debased mindset. They became fools in their thinking, from the president, to his counselors, to his staff, down to all his supporters. None of them was wise, though they have proof of education and degrees that allowed them to earn five or six figures and more.
Then came Trump, held up the Bible in front of millions of fans and haters, and declared as a leader: America is a Christian nation under God. He had the courage that politicians and even the King of England lacked to acknowledge the sovereign God, as he also welcomed prayers and support from a people despised for their faith in Jesus Christ. And God exalted this man and the nation to make America great again. He met up with Putin and Kim Jong Un and made peace with many peoples, yet he is despised and rejected for lifting up the Christ above any other name. And because of his stance, God, in his mercy, has once again exalted the U.S.A., but sin shames its people.
May God bless the nations whose God is the Lord and the leaders who openly acknowledge Christ as the redeemer of mankind. For the time will come that God will cast the nations into hell that rejected his son. For this is the word of God as it is written in the book of Revelation. But the sheep nations will continue to live forever on the new earth God will prepare for them. So be it, amen.
