FATHER-SON MOMENTS
Kings will shut their mouths at him, for that which has not been told them, they will see; and that which they have not heard, they will consider.

PROVERBS 23
The Special Invitation
When you sit down to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before you.
2 And put a knife to your throat if you are not the master of your appetite.
3 Long not for his delicacies, for it is deceitful food.
4 Don’t work to be rich; cease from your own discernment.
5 Set not your eyes on it, for it will certainly make wings and fly away as an eagle towards the heavens.
6 Eat not the bread of one that has an evil eye, and neither long for his delicacies.
7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Eat and drink, he says, but not so in his heart.
8 The morsel you eat you will vomit up and lose your sweet words.
The Fatherless
9 Speak not in the ears of a fool, for he will despise the wisdom of your words.
10 Remove not old landmarks and enter not into the fields of the fatherless.
11 For their redeemer is strong who pleads their cause.
Child Discipline
12 Apply your heart to my instructions and your ears to my words of knowledge.
13 Withhold not correction from your child, for if you strike him with the rod, he will not die.
14 Beat him with the rod and so deliver his soul from hell.
15 And son, when your heart is wise, then will my heart rejoice, even mine.
16 And my reins will rejoice when your lips speak the right things.
17 Let not your heart envy sinners, but be in the fear of the LORD all the day long.
18 For there is an end, and your hope will not be cut off.
Avoid Riotous Parties
19 Hear me, my son, be wise; guide your heart away from these ways.
20 Be not with winebibbers and riotous eaters of flesh.
21 For the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and drowsiness will clothe them in rags.
Honor Your Parents
22 Listen to your father who fathered you, and despise not your mother when she is old.
23 Possess my truth, and sell not my wisdom, instructions, nor my discernment.
24 The father of the righteous greatly spins for joy, and he that fathered the wise has joy.
25 Make your father and mother glad, that she who bare you will also spin for joy.
Lustful Woman
26 My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes be pleased to keep my way.
27 A whore is a deep ditch, as a strange woman a narrow pit.
28 She waits for her prey and increases the transgressors among men.
The Drunk
29 Who has woe and sorrow, with contention and arguments, in babbling and wounds without cause, with red eyes?
30 They that are delayed with wine, and they that go to seek mixed wine.
31 They look on the wine when it is red, when it gives its color in the cup and moves just right.
32 But in the end it bites like a serpent and stings like an adder.
33 Then will their eyes behold strange women, and their hearts utter perverse things.
34 They lie down as one in the midst of the sea, that lie on the top of a mast.
35 As one that was struck, weak and beaten, and felt it not. And when they awake, they seek it yet again.

A father loves at all times. How much more not your heavenly father who have begotten you.
– Proverbs
My Thoughts:
After many chapters of a variety of wisdom quotes, we finally arrive at another father-son moment where a father sits down with his son to give him specific instructions for life. This is the kind of father-son talk that defines a son’s direction in life. Of course, these moments are interwoven into everyday family life, but over time, it becomes part of a child’s identity- who he is. And if the father is absent from the home, children experience the loss of family bond. Parents also fail sometimes, and instead of using their failure as an opportunity, they draw back and let fate decide what happens to their precious children.
But not this father. He sees the dangers ahead and the traps, and he loves his son enough to teach him, to warn him, and to prepare him for life. He tells his son to be wise. Parents constantly tell their children, don’t be stupid. Because foolishness is bound up in a child, but the rod of correction drives evil far from them.
Of course, there are more extreme cases like the Palestinians who teach their kids to hate and to kill. This is part of their school education and children’s concerts. They have no love for their children. This is especially true with Islam, which approves of murder, theft, rape, and all evils against infidels as long as they don’t do this among their own people. For this, they say, is the will of their god, but the bible exposes their god as the devil, the father of lies, who was a murderer from the beginning. The Christian values and culture are to love God and to love one’s neighbor as you love yourself. So whatever you want others to do to you, do to them.
Sadly, not everyone loves their child enough to teach them right from wrong, as long as they don’t get caught. All they care about is for their kids to have fun and to be happy. This happens because the parents are not wise and also do not have the fear of God. Don’t you want your kids to go to heaven? Some parents do send their children to attend children’s church, but they themselves no longer want to hear God’s word. So in the end, children start to act like their parents and no longer follow their hypocritical commands. But for you as a parent, no matter your past mistakes, repent and make good by teaching your kids to become good people and good citizens, to love their country and to love God.
Teach them the morals and values that come from God’s word. If you do, they will not die because the Bible is a light to their feet and a light to their path. Jesus himself is the light of everyone born into this dark world. The way of God leads to life, but the ways of the devil are to kill, steal, and to destroy as many souls as he can. And this he wants to kill the children. First, he starts to remove the bible from the classrooms; then he comes with false science that denies God His right as Creature of heaven and the earth, and then he sends the LGBTQ into schools to teach your kids about sex and to pervert their minds. And the end of their ways is death.
You, as a father or mother, are the only person who loves your child more than anyone else. They are flesh of your flesh and blood of your blood. They are your DNA, and they are a blessing from God. Therefore, it is the will of God that parents teach their children right and teach them the love and discipline of God.
Even God himself disciplines his children whom he loves, lest any of them be a child who causes shame.
