HONEY HEALTH – Proverbs 24 Wisdom Challenge.

HONEY HEALTH

Eat honey for it is good for your health. And as the honeycomb is sweet to the palate, so is knowledge and wisdom to the soul that find it.

Like yesterday, read the chapter, and I will give some thoughts at the end.

PROVERBS 24

1 Be not envious of evil men, and long not to be with them.

2 For their heart studies destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.

Construction Architect

3 By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established.

4 By knowledge the rooms are filled with precious and pleasant riches.

Be Wise

5 A wise man is strong, and a man of knowledge increases in strength.

6 By counsel he makes war; for in the multitude of counselors there is safety.

Fools

7 Wisdom is too high for fools; they open not their mouth at the gates.

8 Those counted as evil doers are not called, for they are not the owners of discretion.

9 The thoughts of foolishness are sin, and the scorner is an abomination to man.

Be a Hero

10 He who faints in the day of adversity, has little strength.

11 Forbear to deliver them that are drawn to death, and those ready to be slain.

12 If you say, I did not know, will not he who ponders the heart consider it? But he who keeps the soul knows how to render to every man according to his works.

Honey Health

13 My child, eat honey for it is good for you. And as the honeycomb is sweet to the palate,

14 So is knowledge and wisdom to the soul that find it. You will be rewarded, and your hope will not be cut off.

– Proverbs

Evil Planners

15 Wait not, you wicked, at the dwelling of the righteous to spoil his resting place,

16 For the righteous may fall seven times, but he rises again; but not the wicked, who stumbles in his mischief.

17 Rejoice not when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad when they stumble,

18 Lest the LORD see your evil doing and it displeases him to turn away his wrath from them.

19 Fret not because of evil doers, neither be envious at the wicked,

20 For there is no reward for evil, and the candle of the wicked will be put out.

Fear the Authority

21 My son, fear the LORD and the king, and meddle not with them that are given to change,

22 For their calamity will rise suddenly, and who knows their ruin.

23 It’s not wise or good to show respect for persons in judgment.

24 They that say to the wicked, you are righteous, the people will curse, and nations abhor.

25 Rebuke them, that delight and good blessing may come.

26 Kiss the lips that give right answers.

Good Advice

27 Prepare your work outside, to fit your field, and afterward build your house.

28 Don’t be a witness against your neighbor for nothing, and don’t entice him with your lips.

29 Say not, I will do to him as he has done to me. Render to each man according to his work.

Lazy  People

30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of a man void of understanding,

31 And it was overgrown with thorns, and nettles covered it. And the face of the stone wall was broken down.

32 Then I saw and considered it well. I looked at it and received instruction.

33 A little sleep, a little slumber, and a little folding of the hands again to sleep

34 So will poverty come who will not move, and their want like unto an unarmed man.

My Thoughts:

Eat honey for it is good for your health. And as the honeycomb is sweet to the palate, so is knowledge and wisdom to the soul that find it.

Food for Champions:

You are what you eat, they say. If you want to live forever, you need to eat like a champion. Certain foods have superior nutritional value to ordinary brands. And men ate angels’ food. On a mission trip to Lesotho, I tasted homemade bread that could have easily been that bread from heaven. Remember the bread Jesus multiplied, how the people were filled, and the surplus afterward. And Jesus said, “I have food to eat that you do not know of.” My meat is to do the will of my Father.” John 4:32

What food are you eating? Some boast about their special diets, but food alone will not sustain a man in the day of sickness or adversity. You may have a strong body or mental disposition, but people need more than food to sustain them on their deathbeds.

That is why God’s word is medicine to all your flesh. God’s word is food that gives life and health to your body and your soul. Your words I found, and I ate them, and your word was to me, joy and rejoicing in my heart. For I am called by your name. Whoever overcomes in this life has an invitation to come and eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. Revelation 2:7

Food to Avoid:

To live healthily, there is a long list of experts to avoid. And yes, there are foods you should avoid, but not for the reasons you thought. Some foods are avoided by choice or by a doctor’s recommendation, while certain foods are restricted by religious practice. This is particularly true within Islam and Judaism. Atheists do not care about any of these rules, while Christianity has two important restrictions. And, no, wine is not one of them.

Food that Kills:

Now the serpent was more subtle than any animal of the field that the Lord God made. And he said to the woman: Did God really say you may not eat of all the trees in the garden? But she responded to the serpent. We may eat of all the fruit of the trees in the garden, except the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden. Because God said, ‘You will not eat of it, nor touch it, lest you die.’ And the serpent said to the woman, “Truly you will not die, die! God knows that on the day you eat of it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes, a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof and ate, and gave also to her husband, who was with her, and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked.

Food for Thought:

Jesus said, Man will not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. The same night in which the Lord Jesus was betrayed, he took bread and, when he had given thanks, he broke it and said: Take and eat, for this is my body, which is broken for you. Do this in remembrance of me. In the same manner, he also took the cup, and supped, saying, This cup is the New Testament in my blood. Do this as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me. But some have taken this meal and have become sick, and even died, because they did not discern the body of Christ.

Food Approved:

Eat honey, my son, for it is good for you. Simple advice. No second-hand opinions or approval is necessary from the WHO or the FDA. There is a lot of advice on what to eat and what not to eat. Friends, family, and experts will tell you their opinions and what they have learned. But the New Testament approves all food for eating when done in faith. Peter had a vision from the Lord to eat food considered unclean. Jews would never eat that? “It’s forbidden,” he replied. But Jesus responded: Peter, do not call unclean what I made clean; eat!

All food is good and to be eaten. When you receive it with thanksgiving and prayer, it is sanctified by his word. Abstaining from foods that God has created to be received with thanksgiving is not good. For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving. For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

People who live to be 100 years or more do not eat according to today’s forced nutrition. And the Bible neither promotes good health through a vegetarian diet. Daniel abstained from the king’s meat not because he was a vegetarian, but because of his devotion to the Lord God. Proverbs says: Wisdom will increase your life, and the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Therefore, let no one judge you on what you eat and drink, for it is blessed through prayer and thanksgiving.

Food for Love:

If what you eat is going to offend your weak-faith brother, then for love’s sake, do not eat that in front of him. And so, fulfill God’s commandment. Some are free to drink wine, while Nazarenes prefer water. Paul even advised Timothy to have a little wine for his constant tummy aches. You are free, but let not your freedom cause a stumbling block or an argument contrary to love.

Food for Thanksgiving:

Take no thought for your life, what you will eat, or what you will drink. Nor for your body, what you will put on. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothes? God knows you need these things.

You will have all the food you want, and you will praise the Lord your God, who does these miracles for you. Never again will my people be disgraced. Then you will know that I am.

Thank You Abba Father for blessing my bread and my water, and for taking away sickness from me in Jesus’ name. Exodus 23:25
